Successfully defended a “Black Israelite” against Assault charges allegedly occurring on September 11, 2001. The complaining witness alleged that he was assaulted by my client after the complainant confronted the defendant while he was preaching on the street after the September 11 attacks. The complainant was successfully shown to be untruthful during cross examination and the jury returned a not guilty verdict on all counts.
Successfully defended a young man charged with assaulting a limousine driver after a night of partying in New York City. My client was charged along with two co-defendants. I was able to persuade the jury that my client had no hand in the assault and was innocent of the charges. The jury acquitted my client of all charges. Defended 16 year old individual charged with Sexual Abuse. The defendant was arrested along with his younger brother, who was prosecuted in Family Court, and his uncle. The arrests were covered by the media as they occurred outside Radio City Music Hall during the MTV music awards and since they took place only a few months after the Central Park arrests during the Puerto Rican Day Parade. Despite my client’s lack of a criminal record, political pressure kept the District Attorney from making an acceptable plea offer. Mr. Campos was acquitted after a two day bech trial.
